Hello and welcome to Creative Space OT

I am Delphine Durand, a highly experienced and passionate independent Children’s Occupational Therapist and DIR Floortime Advanced Practitioner with over 16 years experience working in paediatrics within the UK and internationally.

I am based in West Sussex – providing support in London, Surrey, Sussex and the South of England. I also offer online consultancy and support.

To this day, I continue my work as a senior children’s Occupational Therapist within the NHS. I find that balancing public service with private practice gives me the best of both worlds: the freedom to work creatively with families and the discipline of a fast-paced, evidence-based clinical environment. Working alongside a wider team of experts ensures I am always learning and providing the best possible care for your child.

I am passionate and dedicated to working with children, young people and adults with SEN needs to help them and their families achieve their goals and full potential.

My clinical background spans diverse environments, from mainstream and special schools to community clinics and early years settings. I have also practiced in high-challenge international contexts, including townships in South Africa, India, and Nepal. In 2015, I founded a therapy project at Timi School and Day Centre in Bhaktapur, Nepal. There, I led staff and parent training and provided hands-on intervention for children with complex medical and neurodevelopmental needs. I directed this project for nearly a decade, stepping back in 2024 after the birth of my daughter.

My approach is holistic, playful and person-centred whilst also being rooted in evidence-based practice. I believe in working in close partnership with parents/ carers and all agencies involved in an individual’s care.

I am a lifelong learner at heart. To ensure I’m providing the most effective support, I regularly participate in reflection groups and stay up-to-date through clinical courses, podcasts, and research. This ongoing study allows me to better understand the unique perspectives of the children I work with while constantly evolving my own therapeutic practice.

I am a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and also their special Children and Young People and Families section. I am registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)- essential to practice. My registration number is: OT60168. Click here for a link to the HCPC registration page.
